LOVE IS NOT DETERMINED BY GENDER

~By Rashi Shrivastava

Once upon a time, there were two girls Sita and Riya. They both were best friends since childhood. One day when they both were playing, Sita asks her mother that why a queen is always married to a king only, why a queen is not married to a queen.
Mom was unable to answer that question. She just smiled and changed the topic. Time passed by, they grew up starting to love each other.

Riya’s family had been knowing that she was interested in girls and they didn't have any problem with that. But Sita was afraid of telling this to her mother because her father was not there and her mother was a single parent and she never wanted to hurt her by telling her this. As Sita’s mother didn’t know about it, she started searching for a boy for Sita’s marriage After getting to know that, Riya was very upset and went to Sita’s house to have a word with her. But Sita behaved like she wasn't aware of anything.
Riya was furious at her behavior. She confronted her, "Are you not aware of our love? Why are you acting as you don't care about anything?"
Sita was unable to answer this. She could only respond that "by telling my mother I don’t want to hurt her." Riya asks her to give it a try. She explains to her that her mother cares for Sita and will not be upset upon listening to the truth. After saying, this Riya left.
No matter how hard she tried, Sita could not muster up the courage to tell her mother the truth of her feelings for Riya. How could she? After seeing her mother facing so much trouble for her and knowing how her mother would react to it!

On the day of Sita’s marriage, Riya came into her room. They both talked. Riya said to her that, "I love you and want you to be happy always. If you are happy with this, then I am also contented".
While Sita’s mother came for her daughter as the procession is standing at the gate, she heard their conversation. She then came to know that her daughter was never happy with this marriage and was interested in girls. She came into the room and asked Riya to move out of the room. Sita’s mother asks her in a furious voice to her daughter that why didn't she tell all this to her before. Sita burst out crying. Her mother said to her that she didn’t have any problem with her daughter being Lesbian. All she wanted was to see her daughter happy, no matter with whom she was. Then she called Riya in and asked her that did she love Sita. Riya answered yes. Sita’s mother said that "If you both are happy together then, I don't have any problem with this. Just be happy together."

Sita’s fiance heard their conversation. Sita’s mother tried to explain to him but he stopped her. He said that he doesn't have any problem with the fact that Sita is interested in girls instead of boys. They all were very happy after listening to his words.

So the moral of the story is love always wins. It doesn’t matter what people say or the society says. Love always is carefree and pure. People in love always love the soul and pure heart of their partner. They don't fall in love with their outer appearance or gender. They just love the other person with their pure feelings.
